NYC school zones, not districts
The unofficial map of NYC public school zones, using official data.
Why
For New York City public schools, particularly elementary and middle schools, admissions priority is often determined by a resident's school zone. (Districts still matter. Some unzoned schools prioritize its closest districts.) I could find my child's zoned school with the official DOE tool, but I also wanted to know where the zone boundaries were. Like many New Yorkers, our family rents and could move soon. Incredulously, I could not find a good map of them anywhere. So I created my own.
